The successful candidate will play an important role in developing sales strategies to promote and sell our services in the UK and key markets around the world. You will bring experience (or in-depth understanding) of the Oxbridge teaching system to the business and run a team who will build and manage positive, long-term relationships with high-value clients. Bringing your academic expertise and leadership to the team, you will work with the Head of OA to maximise growth and be a key driver of the sales strategy for OA.

Duties & responsibilities

Consultative sales

  • Work alongside the Head of OA to develop a strategy that maximises sales and business growth – including the ability to analyse and manipulate client data to generate effective, targeted strategies and campaigns.
  • Conduct Private Consultations with families, schools and third-party agencies around the world to sell effective support programmes for students’ applications to competitive universities.
  • Client relationships - play a vital role in the journey of each students’ individual success and personal academic development.
  • Proactively adapt and innovate sales processes according to new product lines and client experience – maximising efficiency whilst not compromising on quality.

Programme delivery

  • Collaborate with the client management team to innovate and quality control the products and services we sell and deliver – providing a crucial link between the sales and client management teams.
  • Regularly monitor clients’ progress (using Salesforce) ensuring they are on track academically and receiving the best service possible from the client management team.


  • Review and report sales KPIs, financial performance and new business developments to the Head of OA.


  • Utilise your commercial and academic knowledge to motivate and manage a team of dedicated junior consultants who will help deliver the sales strategy.

Line Management

  • Responsible for a team of junior consultants including temps.

Person Specification

  • Degree from Cambridge or Oxford University or direct knowledge and understanding of the Oxbridge teaching system.
  • Proven consultative sales experience, ideally, but not necessarily in the education sector.
  • Understanding of the UK education sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Results driven and committed to providing bespoke customer service.    
  • Strong management and leadership skills – able to build and motivate a team.
  • Have a genuine desire to help young people reach their full potential.

In the role of Events Executive, you will assist in planning logistics for a variety of first-class school events (attended by up to 300 students) including preparation days, residential events and conferences.

Supporting the Events Manager you will recruit and manage a database of tutors and speakers, track individual event budgets, play a key role in organising event logistics and report on event performance to aid future event planning and delivery.

The successful candidate will be personable, organised and committed to delivering the highest level of customer care. Previous events management experience is desirable but not essential, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience within the events industry.

Duties and key responsibilities:

Event delivery

  • Assist with event logistics planning, ensuring all aspects of events are delivered efficiently, effectively and with the highest quality of customer care.
  • More specifically you will:
    • Oversee delegate registers - for Private Clients, Independent Bookings, and School Bookings – ensuring delegates are registered and all details correct.
    • Enable the smooth operation of the events timetable – juggling extensive schedules to ensure all sessions are attended.
  • Book transport and accommodation for small to large-scale events.
  • Report on individual event budgets on a daily basis.
  • Manage collateral and materials (i.e. printed tests, brochures, flyers, presentations, banners) working with the marketing team to develop collateral content.

Tutor recruitment and management

  • Recruit and manage a pool of tutors, speakers and consultants - fostering these relationships by ensuring they are accurately briefed and supervised before, during and after events.
  • Take a lead on the creation of our monthly tutor newsletter - working internally across teams to collate relevant information.

Systems, strategy and reporting

  • Ensure all events are updated on the CRM system.
  • Continually build relationships with suppliers and venues, collating a database of contacts for use in event delivery.
  • Work on the Events strategy to improve event delivery and success rate.

Person Specification

  • Educated to degree level (or international equivalent).
  • Personable and resourceful.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Excellent administrative and planning skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM systems (desirable).
  • 6 months+ experience in events management (desirable).

Paul Ludlow

Paul's role is to support the work of the Colleges to help ensure they are always compliant and inspection-ready.

His main focus is the governance of safeguarding, boarding, and health & safety. He draws on 14 years of experience in educational senior management, safeguarding, and boarding leadership in a wide range of schools and colleges including independent, state and special.

Overall, Paul has over 28 years of experience in education, including time working with Astrum Education and CATS College London. 

Henrietta Lightwood

Henrietta started working for the BBC before transitioning to a career in sales and marketing for Pentel Pens and The Oxford Paper Company. For 16 years, she worked in public relations and marketing consultancy for big blue-chip corporates including Marks and Spencer, Allied Domecq, Somerfield, and Elf Oil, developing campaigns involving all elements of the marketing mix. In 2004, Henrietta joined Badminton School as their Director of Marketing and Admissions and since then has held similar positions for Queen's College Taunton, St George's Ascot, and Kingswood School before joining Dukes E

Tim Fish

Tim Fish is Earslcliffe's founder and Principal. With almost thirty years' experience in teaching and leading in well-known international schools in England, Tim provides an arena of academic stimulus, intellectual rigour, cultural enrichment, vigorous internationalism and, ultimately, personal success, in which students perform to their very best abilities. He is a hands-on figure in the school, teaching A-level Politics and handling most of the one-to-one university preparation himself.

Alison Bissell

Alison read Mathematics and Philosophy at Pembroke College, Oxford. She began working with Oxbridge Applications as a tutor and has maintained this role alongside her other work since 2012.

As a consultant with Oxbridge Applications, Alison has conducted hundreds of mock interviews and consultations with students both in the UK and around the globe, travelling to schools in the Middle East and Far East. She has also worked in corporate roles within government, before re-joining the team at Oxbridge Applications.
